Free Consultation

When you are looking for a therapist it is important to "shop around" to find a therapist that feels right. During a consultation you can ask your questions, get information and figure out if the therapist is right for you.

Initial Assessments

An important first step in therapy is working with your therapist to get to know each other and for your therapist to gather information to understand your experiences, challenges and strengths. This takes some time and it is well worth it as it as your therapist needs this information in order to hep you reach your goals.


Couples and Families

All relationships need attention at one time or another. Our skilled and compassionate couple and family therapists will work closely with you to address the areas in your relationships that need attention and care. Your sessions will be safe, supportive and non-judgmental.

Valerie Hopkins pursued post-secondary education graduating with a BA in Sociology; BSW Honours; BA in Child Social Institutions; and an MSW from the University of Western Ontario. Valerie has enjoyed working with First Nations and non-Indigenous clientele and communities. She has done one to one and group counselling with all age groups in a variety of areas including Domestic Violence; Addictions; Sexual Abuse; Historical Trauma; Court support. She especially enjoys working with children and youth. Valerie uses the medicine wheel for a holistic approach to address Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual needs.

Adolescents and Adults

Sue is an accomplished psychotherapist with a Master of Social Work and Education from the University of Toronto. With specialized training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), including Enhanced CBT for insomnia, trauma and women’s reproductive health, she offers a comprehensive approach to mental well-being. Certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and skilled in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Sue integrates DBT, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed practices to provide effective support tailored to individual needs.

Her areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, postpartum depression, and issues related to birth, loss, menopause, and psychosis. She is passionate about helping women navigate their reproductive lifespan, fostering resilience and empowerment in their journeys. In addition to individual therapy, Sue works with families and couples, utilizing her Gottman training to strengthen relationships and enhance communication.

With a background that includes somatic therapy and mindfulness, Sue creates a compassionate and nurturing environment where clients can explore their challenges. She also offers clinical supervision to fellow practitioners, drawing on her extensive history of effective practice in mental health.

Any introduction of Robert Tansley begins with he is a husband, a father of four and grandfather of three. This beginning point of introduction reflects his values. Robert holds dear his family. He also holds a Masters Degree from the University of Toronto (MSW) completed in 1987. He is formally trained in Strategic Family Therapy; Solution Focused Family Therapy; Dialectic Behavioural Therapy and treatment strategies for ADHD. Robert has extensive experience treating depression, anxiety; adhd and trauma. He further works with neurodivergence extensively in his practice.

Robert would say that he is in the change business. This business begins with two simple but difficult pieces – find someone you trust and tell them the truth. Change is embedded in a healthy relationship with a trained mental health professional. Robert is also writer. He has published two professional journal articles.
